Otherkin

My Awakening occurred in early early march this year. I was (and still am) heavily down the World of Darkness rabbit hole, most prominently Vampire: The Masquerade. For a good while prior to my proper awakening, I always vaguely danced around the concept of being some form of otherkin/alterhuman (namely a shark...still something i identify with to this day), mostly because I could tell I either never was or was never meant to be human. Around the 3rd or 4th of march, while I was chilling with my WoD megagame table on a discord call, I was scrolling through Tumblr and interacting with a group on there that was for vampire media and vampyres/vampire otherkin. A person interacted with me who used their Tumblr as a personal journal, which lead to me taking a peek and finding a word I wasn't familiar with - Sanguinarian. One Tumblr Rabbit hole later, I found the BRS and Project V websites, first thinking "Oh this is brilliant sociological research", but then finding myself relating to a lot of things. Combined with my affinity for Clan Tzimisce, I delved deep into myself to see if there was a pattern. There indeed was. I've since come to terms with the fact that I'm a vampyre with a degree of fictional origin. A lot of my odd behaviors and unexplained things in my life made sense now. Though I'm still grappling with it, I'm living as myself and I couldn't be happier. I'm hoping more people come around and tell their stories and feel welcome in this community, i've never felt so many kindred spirits (pun intended) in one place.
