From these, we define ourselves. We wind our stories around one-another and within our own minds of what we are and what matters to us. In many ways these are stories. They may also be true–these two things can coexist. But they are themselves interpretations; estimates we’ve made of our own character built from the sum of our experiences. The mind doing its very best to make sense of its own chaos.
