Disabled/ND Vamps

Hello! I created this group for disabled vampires to talk about being disabled, vampyrism, and the intersection of both. Although not all in the community identify as being disabled, the d/Deaf community is also welcome with open arms.

Some guidelines include:

  • No ableism by any means. This includes using ableist slurs (especially if unable to be reclaimed), using disabilities such as blind, bipolar, adhd, etc as adjectives, as well as stigmatizing any disability. examples include “the weather is so bipolar”, “this fell on deaf ears”, or misuse of medical terminology alongside stereotypes.

  • no syscourse. I don’t say this to necessarily specify which side im om but moreso i don’t like seeing discourse

  • although one can mention symptoms, it should be noted many of us are not doctors or medical professionals

  • whenever possible a image description is appreciated, although i do acknowledge it isn’t always possible. For help the accessible social article on image descriptions can help

  • paragraphs are welcome as long as there is space in between

Books, articles, videos (preferably with captions or a transcript if possible), or other disability recommendations are welcome.

This is a space that is meant to acknowledge the intersections of disability and vampirism and how one can influence the other and vice versa and that even then it is still valid. I hope you all enjoy:)
